Kelly's mom, dad, and sister came into town over the holiday weekend to witness Kelly's growing belly firsthand before the big arrival. Kelly's sister and sister-in-law planned a surprise baby shower for the same weekend.
It was a bit tough keeping things a secret, especially since cakes were being decorated and party food was being made at out house. A few people had a tough time keeping their big traps shut as well (that would be me). We finally told Kelly to stop asking questions and to just "go with the flow". She did her best to act surprised.
Ours was a high-tech party. For some strange reason, Kelly and I are the only ones in our respective families to live in Utah, so we had a number of people join the party on the web. We found a free site
TokBox that allows multiple people to video conference at the same time without having to download software. It worked great - kinda. Kelly's mom acted as our connection to the web - relaying their comments to us.
All in all, Kelly had a great time. Baby Steffen was showered with gifts and it was great seeing family and friends. Thanks so much to everyone who helped put everything together. And thank you so much to everyone who could join - in person, via phone, or on the web.
