A new perspective

Almost two weeks ago, Cora pulled herself up to standing for the first time. She has impressive upper body strength and finally managed to coordinate that strength with her legs. She certainly has been enjoying the new perspective.

Outside play

While Mike and I have been slightly overwhelmed by the amount of work that our new yard requires, Audrey and Cora have been enjoying all the outside time. Cora was able to explore the driveway a little this past weekend but mostly she is in our arms, in the ergo, or the jumparoo.

Audrey, on the other had, has been exploring non-stop. She is constantly running back and forth between the front and the back yards, digging for worms (she found three this weekend and took them for a walk), and her new obsession is climbing a tree.

Just a few weeks ago, this tree that she loves to climb was completely overgrown with ivy. We have been working a lot in this small section of yard and are happy to call it done...at least for now. We forgot to take a before picture but here is a shot of the tree with some Christmas lights on it that sort of shows how far up the ivy was growing.

And here is what it looks like after we finished things today.

Bussy Cat

Audrey's current favorite song is Casper Babypants' "Bussy Cat" (Audrey's pronunciation). Here is our covert recording of her singing along in the car:

9 months old

Nine months already? That's the last single digit month! Only three months to a year! The time has been flying by here and this little girl is growing up. We tried a few different things for her picture this month. First up - hanging baby. Cora was not impressed.

Cora has been a monster in the high chair lately. I'm not sure if it's a growth spurt or if she is trying to act like a teenage boy but she has been eating A LOT. Second try for nine month shot was in the high chair. Unfortunately I think we're going to need to take a video to truly capture this little piggy in action.

So in the end, we are left with our little baby doing what she does best...looking cute!

Do you hear it?

That's the sound of the yeast burping.

February 1st

Has anyone seen that commercial for diapers that has all the kids with crazy hair when they wake up in the morning? Well those kids have nothing on Audrey. She was made to star in that commercial. No fake, gel-styled bed head required here. Here's an early morning shot I took of the two girls at breakfast.
