Seeing as how both Mike and I are second children you'd think we'd be better at this. But here we are almost 3 months into Cora's life and she's only had 3 blog posts. Whereas Audrey by this point had 25. (Ouch!) Cora, hopefully you and our family can forgive us when they see these adorable pictures.

Mini-Mommy
Audrey currently has 4 dolls. All were gifts that while she liked initially, they then quickly moved to the sidelines...until now. Her dolls are front and center, especially this blue one. And this baby has to do everything that Cora does. She gets her diaper changed, she gets fed (apparently Audrey prefers a mix of nursing and bottles), she gets buckled into the carseat, and put in the bouncy seat and swing. My favorite was when she wanted to put Baby in the "wrapper", which is her word for the Moby wrap. We've been transitioning to using the Ergo carrier more lately and so she's been wanting to use that. I'm glad I got in this picture when I did.
Fun in the sun
Summer is finally here!!! We had a few really nice days in May followed by a dismal June. But now that the sun is back, we've been having some sprinkler fun again in the backyard.
The warmer weather has also allowed our garden to finally start growing. We didn't plan on doing much with the garden this year since Cora was due in early May (when most things should have been planted) and that we were hoping to buy a house and be out of here by the time most things would be harvested. But back in late March we started growing some seeds with Audrey using the same supplies as last year. The zucchini and peas quickly sprouted and were placed outside in late April. And then we added lettuce and spinach. And then green beans, radishes, and onions. And then we added containers of basil, oregano, parsley, and rosemary (on top of the lemon thyme that survived the winter). And then a family friend gave us some tomato plants which we decided to put in containers as well with the hope of transporting them to our new home. So much for not planning to do a big garden this year! But it has been so much fun for Audrey.
She loves digging in the garden and pulling weeds. Although a few days ago she mistook the onions for weeds and so we won't be harvesting any of those! The lettuce, spinach, radishes, and peas are finally done but we just started harvesting green beans and zucchini. We have some small cherry tomatoes growing and the herbs are all doing quite well. She loves to go out and sample them. Can kids get sick from eating too much oregano? We might need to check on that because she really loves that one the best.
I can't wait until we are settled and will have some dedicated garden space where we won't have to worry about moving during the peak harvesting time.

Zoo Member Night
Back in June we were lucky enough to be invited to a members night at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium (thanks Aunt Lala and Uncle Steve!). Due to the fact that it started late and Cora had been successfully taking bottles, we decided that it would be a perfect Mommy and Audrey excursion. The older cousins had fun that night seeing the elephant house and the polar bears up close. One of the highlights for the kids was the carousel.
Personally, I loved the walrus. He kept swimming right past the window and Audrey was in the perfect spot to see him up close over and over again. It was pretty cool.
And the video...
It was a very fun evening with Audrey. Unfortunately Cora has since decided she doesn't like the bottle so future excursions are limited to 2 hours unless we can convince her otherwise.

Sisters, Sisters...
There were never such devoted sisters. (Couldn't help a little White Christmas nod.)
I know that we have been neglecting the blog so I thought I would put up a few pictures and promise to get back into the swing of things soon. Here are some of our favorite pictures of the two girls.
