A weekend away

We were extremely lucky last weekend to spend a few days away before this new little one comes. We realize that it probably won't happen again for a while. Grammy and Papa reserved us a room in Long Beach and Nana graciously agreed to watch Audrey while we were gone.

While other parts of the country may have some nice beaches for swimming, I think the Pacific NW coast has the prettiest scenery. Seeing cars driving on the beach threw us for a loop but the frigid water, tree lined cliffs, and lighthouses were another nice welcome home to the west coast.

Spending the afternoon out and about walking on the beach, making dinner reservations for 8:30pm...it was nice to relive some of those things we would do before kids. But while it was fun to get away, it was also nice to get back to Audrey (those hugs and kisses are the best!).

It's egg hunt time!

In Seattle!

A little rainy for an egg hunt but that didn't stop this little girl. She did great collecting the eggs but had a bit more fun opening them and eating the chocolate.

They had a little area set up where you could take some pictures. Unfortunately, Audrey decided it was time for her "serious face". So here is our sweet little serious girl all dressed up for her party.

Funny Random Pictures

...at least funny for us. First up is a shot of Audrey on her "truck". This toy is still getting a lot of use since we got it for her on her first birthday. On this day, she decided she needed to wear her hat while driving the truck - "just like Daddy".

The cats are becoming much more comfortable around Audrey and will tolerate a lot more then they used to. Below is what happens when Audrey decides the cats are "cold" and obviously need some blankets while they sleep.

She's also continuing to repeat back some of the things that we are saying to her. Yesterday I suggested we give Zetta a treat. I told Audrey we had to look in the pantry for them. She runs in there and says, "Where, where is it? Can you point to it? can you point to it?" This stems from constantly asking "what's that" and we have absolutely no idea what she could be talking about. So we've started asking her to point to what she means. I guess she figured it works since she started using it herself. It is also another friendly reminder to watch what we are saying to her since we have no idea when it will come back out her mouth!

Baby Sister

We have been slacking on this a little and it is definitely past time to introduce "baby sister" to the blogger world. She is scheduled to make her appearance sometime around May 4th. While we could have used some ultrasound pictures for her debut, we thought a video of her trying to escape her confines was much more interesting.

Gym Time

We've been taking Audrey to a gymnastics class for a few months now. She is finally starting to warm up to everything there so I brought the camera in one day to get some action shots to share with everyone. Here she is swinging on the bar...

...and jumping on the trampoline. She also walked across the balance beam by herself for the first time today. Gym time includes some fun with bouncy balls or occasionally they'll break out the tee ball stuff. The place is in a giant warehouse that isn't really heated so we usually keep the jacket on for a while until she warms up a bit.

I'm not sure if there is a law requiring it, but it seems that no toddler-age event is complete without bubbles. But it is one of Audrey's favorite things and she equally likes popping them with her finger or stomping on them once they reach the ground. It's been fun watching her progress over these past few months and I can't wait to see what she does next.
